Galaxy Note8 undergoes scratch, burn, and bend test

Now that Samsung’s Galaxy Note8 is starting to ship to eager customers who’ve pre-ordered it, it’s time for the JerryRigEverything YouTube channel to give us the results of its traditional scratch, burn and bend test. The Note8 is the latest device to fall victim to this torture test, and the full ordeal is embedded below for your viewing pleasure.

In case you can’t watch that, here’s a short summary. The Note8 comes off as sturdy. The glass scratches at exactly the hardness level you’d expect it to, and the handset is impossible to bend when normal levels of force are applied.

The screen flame test does result in permanent damage after around ten seconds (since unlike LCDs the AMOLED panel doesn’t recover), and the fingerprint scanner can be scratched. It does however still work even after that. Since the frame is metal, it means it can be scraped.

Leak! Nokia Set to Launch Flagship Smartphone with 6GB Ram and 256 Rom

The approximate cost of the device will be $800 for the youngest modification, and for the 256 GB top-end version will have to pay a whooping US $950.

Today at CES (The largest tech show on earth 2017) Asus announced two new smartphones, both of which have been in the rumors quite a lot lately. We’re talking about the Zenfone AR and Zenfone 3 Zoom.

Asus Zenfone AR is a phone that is trying to drag us into the future, it is the first smartphone capable of both VR and AR, it’s also only the second-ever Tango-compatible Android handset. It has a large camera module that looks like something from Nokia’s now-gone Lumia smartphone series.

The Asus Zenfone AR is a sleek, 5.7″ device with all the regular features of your modern-day smartphone: a high-res Quad HD display, a fingerprint scanner, and it’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 chipset aided by a whopping 8GB of RAM – This makes the Zenfone AR one of the first phones with 8 gigs of RAM on board, but it is really the augmented reality that is the king here.

HTC One X10 leaked with specs and availability information

HTC will out a new smartphone by the end of the month, according to the almost always reliable Evan Blass (a.k.a @evleaks) and he is letting us know that HTC would release a new device at the end of this month. They would love to call this unit the HTC One X10, poised to be the successor to the HTC One X9 from last year.

We have truly been expecting this unit for a while as it had been certified in Russia. We also got to know via a rumour that asides from the 5.5 inches of screen the unit would be powered by MediaTek Helio P10 chipset.
Going further deep, we get to see 3GB of RAM and a rear camera sensor of 13MP rating.
Going by the leaked list that started to make internet rounds today, most of the specs have really panned out. However, the previous rumours were wrong in a few places. For example, the camera in the back would be a 16.3MP sensor instead and the selfie camera stands at 7.9MP. Looking at the spec sheet of the old One X9 and comparing to this newbie, the only improvements seem to be in the camera department.

The Fastest Android Smartphone

I made a post about Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe which was released recently with awesome spec here. Report available shows that the Zenfone 3 Deluxe is the world first Snapdragon 821-based Smartphone.

The Deluxe is the first handset to feature the Snapdragon 821, which is a follow-up to the mighty 820 that powers phones like Samsung’s Galaxy S7, Xiaomi’s Mi 5 and the HTC 10. The new chip promises a 10 percent increase in performance over its predecessor and a maximum clock speed of 2.4 GHz for its quad-core CPU

Also under the hood are an Adreno 530 GPU, up to 6GB DDR4 RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. Those are available in the top-of-the-line variant; the other two feature a Snapdragon 820 chip along with your choice of 6GB RAM and 64GB of space, or 4GB RAM with 32GB of storage

All that is packed into an 5.7-inch all-metal unibody chassis with a 1080p screen protected by Gorilla Glass 4. There’s a 23-megapixel camera on the back with optical image stabilization and three technologies working in tandem for a focus time of 0.03 seconds, along with a fingerprint reader. A 3,000mAh battery powers the device; ASUS says its Quick Charge 3.0 juices it up to 60 percent in just 39 minutes.

With that, ASUS might well have created the most powerful phone on the market for 2016 – but of course, you’ll want to see how it performs on benchmarks once it’s out.

It’ll be interesting to see if other manufacturers can match the Deluxe’s specifications at a lower price point later this year
